The nominees for the last set of South Bank Show Awards (the programme has, as you may be aware, been cancelled) have been announced, and the likes of Carey Mulligan (pictured) and Suranne Jones will be competing for gongs. The two actresses are amongst the ten nominees up for the Times Breakthrough Award, in a category which also includes 'Enron' writer Lucy Prebble.
Shows nominated in the theatre category include the Donmar Warehouse's version of 'A Streetcar Named Desire', Jez Butterworth play 'Jerusalem', staged at the Royal Court, and the National Theatre's production of Alan Bennet's 'The Habit Of Art'. The TV drama section sees Channel 4's 'Red Riding' compete with ITV's 'Collision' and and BBC3's 'Being Human', whilst BBC2's 'Home Time', E4's 'The Inbetweeners' and BBC2's 'The Thick Of It' will fight it out in the comedy category.
The award ceremony will take place on 26 January at London's Dorchester Hotel.
