Birds Eye View Film Festival announces line up

by thisweeknews 22. January 2010 14:27

The Birds Eye View Film Festival, which celebrates the work of women film makers, has announced its sixth annual event and line up.

Featured this year are the likes of Drew Barrymore's directorial debut 'Whip It' and  Kim Longinotto's prize winning documentary 'Rough Aunties', whilst the work of Oscar-nominated Danish director Susanne Bier will be celebrated with a retrospective and masterclass. There will also be a strand of screenings on the theme of The Blonde in early silent and classic Hollywood cinema, the silent films accompanied by live, specially commissioned music. A programme of shorts is also planned, and a showcase of pop videos, the latter hosted by journalist Miranda Sawyer.

It all takes place early in March at a number of London venues, including BFI South Bank, the Barbican and the ICA. For more information, see www.birds-eye-view.co.uk
