Street artist Banksy has made a film, and it's going to have its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, which began yesterday. 'Exit Through The Gift Shop' has been billed as "the world's first street art disaster movie", and the film's appearance at the festival has been handled very secretively; it was left out of the official programme, but a hint of what was to come came when four stencils, apparently by Banksy himself, appeared on walls in Park City, where the festival takes place. The film will be screened on Sunday.
Banksy says of the flick, which apparently contains exclusive footage of the artist at work: "It's the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed".
John Cooper, director of the Sundance Festival, says: "'Exit Through The Gift Shop' is one of those films that comes along once in a great while, a warped hybrid of reality and self-induced fiction while at the same time a totally entertaining experience".
'Exit Through The Gift Shop' is released in UK cinemas on 5 March.
